Green Peas in Rice

Ingredients
2 cups rice
2 cups hot water with
1 chicken stock cube, dissolved
1 cup frozen peas
1 tbsp mirin
1 tbsp soy sauce
You will also need a rice cooker for this recipe
Method
As always, you should wash your rice until the water runs fairly clear, then soak for half an hour before use.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the rice cooker, including the rice, chicken stock, peas, mirin and soy sauce. Now all you have to do is put on the lid and cook as usual.
Once finished, use your rice paddle just to distribute the caramelised bottom layer, and you're done!

This recipe originally appeared in Harumi's Japanese Home Cooking, which is great for bento recipe ideas. I've tweaked it around slightly to make it easier, and changed sake for mirin, so feel free to use sake if you don't have any mirin in the house.
